Getting Started: Firstly you need a compatible
mobile phone. For each asset/ person/ vehicle
you need a separate mobile phone and a GPS receiver.
Download and install the GeoLocateX software
for your country from the links below. You may
need a Y cable for charging the GPS and Mobile
phone in the tracked vehicle. If you need to
buy a GPS this is one of the many good starting
points to bluetooth

both the GPS and mobile phone to the cigarette

Q. What is the distance unit displayed on the
reference map?
A. The distance is shown according to the country
standard.For USA it is miles and for UK in kilometers
Q.Is the distance shown on map road distance
?
A.No it is Great Circle Distance - the distance
as the crow flies along the surface of a ball.
Q.What countries will be supported in the future
?
A. All of Europe, North America, and most of Asia,
Africa and South America.
In all aorund 100 countries by the end of 2005. However due to business needs
in other countries a second version may be released.
Q.How do I install the GeloLocate software on the Symbian
phones ?
A. Download from the internet sites onto PC and
use infra-red or bluetooth to install. There are
many sites that give useful step-by-step information
on how to install software on symbian phones
Q.I am a small truck operator. How can I use GeoLocate to
track my trucks?
A. Buy GeolocateX software for you country and
install in all the cell phones (eg Nokia 6600).
Set up GeoLocateX software on your Nokia 6600 as
well. Now for the trucks get a blue tooth GPS and
using the GeoLocateX software attach a GPS to each
of the Nokia 6600 in the trucks. Set up each truck
as a tracked user on your phone and remember to
set password so that nobody else can find out your
trucks location. Buy a Y cable so that both the
GPS and Phone can be charged at the same time and
place the Bluetooth GPS on the dashboard and the
phone can be anywhere within 10 m distance - eg
in the drivers pocket.
You need to have the program running and the GPS on. Now from anywhere else in your country you can find out where the truck is in reference to major cities and suburbs.
